NGS Scholar
Maya Voltin
Maya is an undergraduate at Utah State University pursuing a career in aviation — specifically rotorcraft technology — motivated by a practical career and the day she gets to say, “I'm a pilot.”
She is inspired by her parents, both Marine officers. Her father, Captain Ryan Voltin, was an AH-1W Cobra attack-helicopter pilot who survived a direct hit during live-fire training in Jordan. Despite third-degree burns and the amputation of his left leg below the knee, he continues to fly. Maya's younger siblings, Noah and Hope, are also NGS Recipients.
It's not only alleviated financial stress for me but will allow me to attend an out-of-state college and follow my passion for aviation.
