For military families
Your education. Zero debt.
If your family answered the call after 9/11, your education shouldn't add to the burden. No Greater Sacrifice funds the unmet cost of a degree — and walks with you the whole way, from your first campus visit to the day you graduate.
A place for the next generation of military families.
NGS scholarships are for the children — from birth to age 26 — of Service members who fell in the line of duty or suffered a wound, illness, or injury while serving after September 11, 2001.
If that's your family, everything you need is here: who qualifies, what the scholarship provides, how to apply, and the community that comes with it.

A degree that fits your family — funded. A full undergraduate degree now costs roughly $96,000 before other aid. For NGS Scholars, that gap is closed, and the path is shared.
For Families
Built for families like yours
NGS supports children from birth to age 26 of Service members who fell in the line of duty or suffered a wound, illness, or injury in the post-9/11 conflicts. There's no charge to apply, and being selected costs your family nothing.

For Families
The full cost of college, covered
NGS funding covers tuition and fees at public in-state rates, room and board, books, and special equipment — plus financial counseling and academic advising. The scholarship is modeled on the Post-9/11 GI Bill, and many Scholars earn their undergraduate degree debt-free even at a private or out-of-state school.
For Families
It starts with an email
Applying to No Greater Sacrifice starts with a single email, and selection follows a fixed annual cycle rather than a rolling one — so reach out early. There's no wrong age to apply: awards go to work immediately for current undergraduates, or are held for children from infancy through 12th grade. And once a Scholar is selected, they never reapply.

For Families
A community that understands
An NGS scholarship comes with something just as vital as tuition: a community of military families who understand. It centers on BootCamp — our multi-day college-prep experience each June in Washington, D.C. — and continues through peer mentorship, an alumni network, and family events throughout the year.
