Financial Information

Every dollar, accounted for.

Transparency isn't a footnote at No Greater Sacrifice — it's how we honor both our Scholars and the people who fund them. More than 95 cents of every dollar goes straight to the mission, and the documents that prove it are right here for you to read.

More than 95% of funds go directly toward our mission. No Greater Sacrifice is a District of Columbia not-for-profit, tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (EIN 26-1572599), and carries the Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency — the highest mark of openness an independent rater awards a nonprofit.

Effective. Transparent. Mission-focused.

As part of our commitment to running an effective, transparent, and mission-focused nonprofit, we publish the full financial record — and explain, in plain terms, what it means for the Scholar your gift supports.

Here is the simplest version: we work to make the most impact with your donation, and more than 95 cents of every dollar goes directly toward the mission. The remaining cents keep the lights on and the audits independent — the unglamorous work that lets us put nearly everything else into scholarships, mentorship, and coaching.

It begins the moment a Scholar arrives at our annual BootCamp in Washington, D.C., where each one sits down with our staff to build a personal Academic and Financial Roadmap — the plan that turns a single gift into a path to a debt-free degree.

Your gift, turned into a debt-free degree.

When you give to No Greater Sacrifice, more than 95 cents of every dollar goes directly to the mission — scholarships, mentorship, and coaching that carry the children of our nation's fallen and severely wounded Service members all the way to a degree.

That discipline is why 571 Scholars have been supported since the foundation was created in 2008, with $30M+ committed to their post-high-school education. It is steady, measurable, repeated year after year — not a single headline, but a habit.

We don't ask you to take that on faith. The full record — independently audited statements, our IRS Form 990, our determination letter, and more — is published below for you to read for yourself. If you want the precise program, fundraising, and administrative breakdown, it's all in the 990, line by line.

The Platinum Seal of Transparency.

No Greater Sacrifice holds the Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid (formerly GuideStar) — the leading independent source of nonprofit data in the United States. Platinum is the highest of Candid's seals, earned by organizations that publish not just their finances but the goals, strategies, and measurable results behind them.

It is one thing for a charity to say it is careful with money. It is another for an outside authority to confirm it. The seal, paired with our independently audited statements and public Form 990, means the trust you place in us is checked by people who don't work for us.

That accountability is what makes the outcomes possible: Scholars who finish college with a community behind them, alumni who come back to BootCamp to guide the next class, and a record any donor can verify before — and after — they give.
