Jaiyla Washington-Bennett
In honor of Jaiyla's father, Petty Officer First Class Albert Bennett Jr., U.S. Navy
Jaiyla Washington-Bennett graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Hampton University in May 2021. She is currently attending Virginia Commonwealth University where she will complete the remaining graduate school portion of the seven-year pharmacy program to earn a PhD in Pharmacy. Additionally, Jaiyla is a talented performer and has been involved with multiple theatre and choral groups over the years, receiving multiple awards.
Jaiyla’s father, Navy Petty Officer First Class Albert Bennett Jr., experienced multiple traumatic incidents while serving, causing multiple medical issues over his 20-years of service.
It is a blessing to have no debt upon graduating, and I have you all to thank for that. I am so thankful.
