No Greater Sacrifice

Leadership

The people behind the mission.

A dedicated staff, a Board of Directors, and a national Leadership Council — focused entirely on the children of our nation's fallen and severely wounded Service members. Together they bring a high degree of military and corporate experience, and a profound personal commitment to one goal: a debt-free education for every Scholar we serve.

2013 Freedom Award Reception

Investing in their capacity for greatness.

Our vision is to honor the sacrifices of our Service members by investing in their children's capacity for greatness through education.

No Greater Sacrifice is dedicated to the children of our nation's fallen and severely wounded Service members by delivering tailored scholarships and resources to improve their quality of life through the pursuit of higher education.

Since 2008, that work has committed $30M+ toward post-high-school education benefits for 571 Recipients — the term the Foundation uses for the Scholars it funds — with 95% of every dollar raised going directly to the mission. Since 2008, Scholars have pursued degrees at 350+ colleges, universities, and trade schools nationwide.

Every person on this page — our staff, our Board of Directors, and our Leadership Council — gives their time, expertise, and resources to make that possible.

The people doing the daily work.

A small, full-time staff carries the mission forward every day — selecting Scholars, building each Scholar's academic and financial roadmap, running the annual BootCamp in Washington, D.C., and standing alongside families from enrollment through graduation.

Their backgrounds span the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of State, defense intelligence, and scholarship administration — and one of them, Associate Director Boston Gilbert, first came to NGS as a scholarship Recipient before joining the team that now serves the next generation.

Guided by experience.

Beyond the staff, two volunteer bodies steward the mission. The Board of Directors governs the Foundation and selects each year's Scholars. The Leadership Council — a national advisory group of leaders from business, government, finance, and media — lends its voice and reach to the cause.
