Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles

Ryann Allen is a freshman at Tennessee Tech University, where she is studying German. Ryann aims to become a freelance translator or translator for government officials. She is also a member of Tennessee Tech's dance team, which allows her to build upon her passion for dance.

Ryann was six years old when her father, Army SSG Charles "Chaz" Allen, stepped on a 40-pound improvised explosive device (IED) while on dismounted patrol in Afghanistan. He instantly lost both legs, along with sustaining other injuries. The Allen family spent the next two years at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Since then, the family has settled in a small town in Tennessee, where they continue to grow mentally and physically.

Ryann knows how much NGS alleviates the financial stress of attending college and the benefits of exposure to opportunities and people. Ryann is looking forward to her years at Tennessee Tech with the support of NGS.

The Allen Family says "The NGS scholarship truly lightens the load on our family and we are so appreciative!

NGS would like to thank UBS 1285 for their amazing support in making Ryann’s dreams come true.
