No Greater Sacrifice

NGS Scholar · Class of 2020

Isabella Beardi Reid

In honor of Isabella's father, MAJ David Beardi, U.S. Army

Isabella Beardi Reid graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. John Fisher College in 2020. Currently, she works at Harlem Road Surgery Center assisting with urologic procedures and has discovered she really enjoys the perioperative nursing field.

Isabella’s Father, US Army Reserve Major David Beardi, was severely injured by an improvised explosive device (IED) one month shy of completing his 17-month mission in Iraq. It was his third and most severe IED incident, resulting in a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Even years later, Isabella expresses gratitude for the role No Greater Sacrifice played in her education.

Isabella says, "This scholarship allowed me to attend a four-year college to earn a degree at St. John Fisher College, a highly accredited school of nursing. My goal is to be able to work with people like my father and give them the treatment they deserve. Due to this scholarship I will indeed reach my goal.

Thank you again for all that NGS has done to help me get to this point in my life. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the help and support from you!”
