Addison “Addie” Barclay
In honor of Addie's father, CPT James “Jae” Barclay, U.S. Army
Addison “Addie” Barclay is attending the University of Alabama. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a minor in Risk Management and Insurance. She aims to become an insurance underwriter, and she recognizes that a business major provides a solid foundation for achieving her goal.
Addie has earned a spot on the Dean's List every semester and is a member of both the Phi Eta Sigma and Alpha Lambda Delta honor societies. Outside the classroom, she's found her people in Alpha Chi Omega sorority, where she volunteers in the community, builds lasting friendships, and plays on the sorority's flag football team.
Addie’s journey is deeply intertwined with her family’s sacrifice. Her father, Army Captain James “Jae” Barclay, endured severe injuries during his service in Afghanistan. A roadside bomb and a two-hour firefight left him with burns covering 47% of his body. Remarkably, Addie was born just seven days after this life-altering event. Now, with the support of the NGS scholarship, Addie can pursue her dreams without financial constraints, benefiting not only herself but her entire family.
