Event
2010 Family Day
Friday, September 24, 2010

Event details
Our Inaugural New York City Family Day hosted scholarship Recipients and their families for a behind the scenes tour of Lower Manhattan. The most notable experiences were: The Family Room at One Liberty Plaza, FDNY Ten House, and the 1st Precinct Police Department!
The day provided interactions between the NYPD and NYFD with NGS families of fallen and severely wounded Service members. Listening and viewing the grounds of the tragedy of September 11, 2001 offered NGS children a very real understanding of why mommy or daddy went to war.
The friendships built amongst our NGS Recipient families on this day led to the decision for NGS to host family days well into the future.
