Anna Karcher graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from Texas Christian University in 2017. While in college she was a runner, and she was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. She is currently a Project Manager at SJL Design Group, which provides full interior architecture services from inception to installation.
Anna’s father, Colonel Tim Karcher’s (Ret.), first injury was a gunshot wound to the left shoulder while serving in Iraq. Later he was critically injured during his third tour of duty in Iraq when his vehicle was struck by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), resulting in bilateral transfemoral leg amputation. He went on to serve in various employment within the US Army and retired as a Colonel after serving nearly 26 years in the military.
Watching her father struggle through a touch-and-go recovery has shaped Anna’s perspective on life, and made her a grateful person. After all her father has overcome, Anna states, “Who am I to be upset about something? He never is.” Colonel Karcher says, “The thing that sets No Greater Sacrifice apart from many other non-profit organizations is that it not only acknowledges the sacrifices and commitment of our Service members, but also acknowledges that their families also make significant sacrifices. No Greater Sacrifice thanks the children of our fallen and severely wounded Service members by setting them on the road to future success by providing a debt-free education.”
