Abbey Karcher is a sophomore at Texas Christian University. She is studying business with an emphasis in accounting. She also is a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority.

Abbey’s father, Colonel Tim Karcher’s (Ret.), first injury was a gunshot wound to the left shoulder while serving in Iraq. Later he was critically injured during his third tour of duty in Iraq when his vehicle was struck by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), resulting in bilateral transfemoral leg amputation. He went on to serve in various employment within the US Army and retired as a Colonel after serving nearly 26 years in the military.

Colonel Karcher says, “The thing that sets No Greater Sacrifice apart from many other non-profit organizations is that it not only acknowledges the sacrifices and commitment of our Service members, but also acknowledges that their Families also make significant sacrifices. No Greater Sacrifice thanks the children of our fallen and severely wounded Service members by setting them on the road to future success by providing a debt-free education.”
