No Greater Sacrifice (NGS) is saddened with the passing of our General Counsel, Honorable Barbara A. Curran.
 
Judge Curran joined the NGS Board of Directors in March of 2010. There are not words that adequately describe the immeasurable positive impact Judge had on NGS and our military families. She was and will be our True North.
 
Judge’s fierce support of the NGS mission which was driven by care for our military, veterans, and their families is to be commended by all. She was an intellectual and moral giant. It was an honor and privilege to see her in action and learn from her wisdom by listening and watching her so gracefully operate at a level that was superhuman. We were always shocked at how she could have such great patience for those of us just trying to keep up, but she never tired of being gentle and kind when it was obvious our intellect and understanding could not keep pace. Judge had amazing charm and wit even in difficult situations. Each person that spoke with her felt her genuine care for them as a person as she took the time to ask personally not only about their welfare but also that of their children, grandchildren, pets, you name it. Her resiliency and resolve could not ever be challenged nor need it be.
 
We are forever thankful to her family for sharing her with us and continuing her legacy by establishing a scholarship in her name.
 
We are forever grateful to Judge for giving countless time, talent, and treasure in her service to the mission of No Greater Sacrifice until her very final days. We can all learn from how she lived a life of service and kindness to all.
