St John Fisher College Wegmans School of Nursing

Isabella Beardi graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. John Fisher College in 2020. Currently, she works at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo. She would eventually like to go back to school to become a nurse practitioner once she has gained experience as a floor nurse.

Isabella’s Father, US Army Reserve Major David Beardi, was severely injured by an improvised explosive device (IED) one month shy of completing his 17-month mission in Iraq. It was his third and most severe IED incident, resulting in a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post-Traumatic Stress Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Isabella says, "This scholarship allowed me to attend a four-year college to earn a degree at St. John Fisher College, a highly accredited school of nursing. My goal is to be able to work with people like my father and give them the treatment they deserve. Due to this scholarship I will indeed reach my goal.

Thank you again for all that NGS has done to help me get to this point in my life. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the help and support from you!”

NGS would also like to thank our amazing partner, the Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund, for their support in making Isabella’s dreams come true.
