On March 8, 2026, retired Army Sergeant First Class John Wayne Walding appeared on Fox News to highlight No Greater Sacrifice with host Mike Emmanuel. The interview began with John Wayne explaining his part in the Battle of Shok Valley in 2008 in which he lost a leg to a sniper, yet continued returning fire for hours, but he quickly pivoted to a message of gratitude.  John Wayne and his wife Amy have four children who are all NGS Recipients.  Emma is currently attending the University of Arkansas, pursuing a major in Graphic Design.  Sam is studying Strategic Communication at Northern Arizona University.  Andie and Hannah will use their scholarships when they become college age.

John Wayne remarked, "That's what's different about No Greater Sacrifice.  They don't just write a check; they really do mentor these children of the fallen and wounded to help them create their dream, and then most importantly, execute that dream."

NGS is honored to support families like the Waldings, and we appreciate Fox News for providing the opportunity to discuss the importance of investing in the futures of the children of our nation's heroes.
